In the 4’s and 5’s class, the children start with crafts that prepare them for the morning Sunday school lesson.  Right before the Sunday school lesson, the children share prayer requests.  During the teaching time, children are encouraged to sit quietly to listen.  The teacher uses flannel-graphs as visual aids that capture their attention, and then ask questions to keep them listening and paying attention.  There is a song time, and more crafts or games that reinforce the Sunday school lessons.
