Pastor Walt Sheppard grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of six. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army where he served for three years. Shortly after his honorable discharge, he surrendered to preach and began Bible College. In 1995, he graduated with a degree in Pastoral Theology, was married, and immediately began serving as a youth pastor. Three years later, he was called to pastor Grace Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the fall of 2000, God directed Pastor Sheppard to start the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Findlay, Ohio.
